Rookie of the Month

Robert Stock

Agoura High School, Westlake Village, CA

According to Coach Scott Deck, Robert Stock is the real deal! Not only is he one of the best catchers in the state of California, but he regulates from the hiss as weel.

As a twelve year old, Stock was blowing fastballs by other kids at 80 mph. Now as a sofpomor, Robert is trowing 89-92 mph. He has a 4-1 record with an ERA of 2.10. In one game Stock pitched the final three innings, striking out five and walking one.

Only fourteen years old, Rober is 6'0 and 185 punds, and has plenty of growing to do. Pitching coach Mike Magnante, retired big leaguer who in twelve years played for several clubs, has played an important role in Stocks development on the mound. He has been a great mentor and understands Roberts potential

This kid has it all. Currently hitting .450, with 27 RBIs, and six home runs, its hard to take him out of the line-up. Plus it is difficult for other teams to steal a base, as his times to second on average are 1.89 - 1.92

Stock loves to play baseball and has been for most of his life. He is a natural leader and has propelled the teams he has played for to many championships. This includes his Pony League team, where he threw a no-hitter in the title game. He also led his travel team to the national title in Cooperstown, N.Y. His performance was above dominance, throwing a two-hitter in one game and going 12 for 12 with six home runs in the tournament.

Coach Deck is quoted as saying, Robert is fun to watch. You add up his talent and his work ethic and the skys the limit. He is a great student at Agoura High School who puts forth the same work ethic in the classroom as well as on the field of play.
